House sales are still buoyant in the South of France

Interesting insight into the Languedoc property market by Peter Mathews of Legget Immobilier.

“After the disaster of the last couple of years where house sales have been “flat” to say the least, Leggett Immobilier has bucked the trend by posting its best trading periods for some time. As ever, clients from abroad are searching for bargains, but the fire sales of a few years ago are a thing of the past, and good, well priced properties are selling quickly and easily, with minimum discounting.

Many people are still seeing the South of France, the Languedoc in particular, as their dream location, and agencies like Leggett are realising that dream for them. Much of the time we are acting as a personal shopper, taking the client requirements and hunting for the dream house, reporting back every few days and forwarding copious pictures. Luckily for us individual Agents, it’s a labour of love, driving through magnificent countryside in the warm sunshine, trying to find that elusive property!

Our partnerships with people like Sharon are crucial to solving client problems, which is our main goal.”
